Porosity of the surface to be adhered: The adhesion of tape occurs when the moisture in the adhesive on the tape surface penetrates into the material after application and quickly dries, making the tape become part of the adhered object. Therefore, the porosity of the surface to be adhered is very important for tape selection. If the surface has high porosity or strong moisture absorption, a tape with a fast-setting adhesive should be used. Conversely, if the surface has low porosity, a tape with a slower-setting adhesive or one containing more adhesive should be used.

Surface adhesive of the tape: During manufacturing, the adhesive is applied to the backing material. It must be fully dried before being wound into rolls. If the adhesive tape is too wet, the tape layers will stick tightly together, making it difficult to unwind when needed. In some cases, it may become completely unusable.
